Booking
your Air Tahiti Nui reservations on Internet is now possible!
A
new reservation system on Internet has just been successfully tested and implemented
to
reserve your Air Tahiti Nui tickets online. This
is a new plus for the airline with the tiare, which confims year after year his membership
in the internationl club of modern airlines
A
"two-star" chef for Air Tahiti Nui's meal plates
Always
looking for the "small pluses that make the difference", Air
Tahiti Nui just hired, in the person of Michel Sarran, a chef awarded two stars by
Michelin to prepare the meal plates in First and Business classes in its long-distance
carriers. Influenced,
of course, by the savors of our islands, 16 main dishes and 8 appetizers, not to
mention desserts, are now available on the A340 of the Polynesian fleet. At the base
of the new dishes, is a complete range of fishes and vegetables from our islands,
all skilfully prepared for the airlines' (wealthiest) flyers.
Change
ot Air France's schedule in Polynesia next April
To
improve its trips between Paris and Papeete, Air France will change its schedule
next April. After succeeding in controling its mixte results from the past year with
the use of Airbus A340s instead of Boeing 747s on this route,
Air
France wanted to offer more connections possibilities to its clientele, whether in
Paris or in Los Angeles, through changes in its schedules. As
Air Tahiti Nui, Air France's 4 weekly flights will take off from Paris in the late
morning and arrive around 10:30 PM, local time, in Papeete after a stopover in Los
Angeles around the middle of the day. Something to offer many connections possibilities,
whether in the United States or in France.
No
Airbus 380 in Polynesia in the near future...
Air
France just announced that the new Airbus A380, capable of carrying 650 to 750 passengers,
depending on their configuration, will be operational on some route as soon as 2010.
The Paris to Los Angeles route should see those impressive sky liners soon fly the
route.
but
it is certain today that none of these A380s will continue to TahitiIndeed
the length of the Tahiti-Faa'a runway and the weight of the aircraft are as many
obstacles to let an A380 land before long in Tahiti.
Surf
the Net in town with public Wi-Fi accesses
Despite
slow connection speeds, Internet continues to make its way in Tahiti and the islands.
The latest new gadget, ManaSpot, a wireless connection service available around branches
of the Office des Postes which lets all owners of portable computers equipped with
WiFi connect to the Net. The cost is a "light" subscription in the form
of a prepaid card.
Everyone
can now get connected when walking around Papeete and in the greater urban zone of
Tahiti. Some
ten access stands are presently already in service and, one year from today, no less
than 150 stands will be operational throughout Tahiti, Moorea and the Leeward Islands.
It still remains to improve the speed!
