The
"Manava Suite Resort Tahiti" to open its doors in April 2009
Despite
delicate economic conditions, The
SPM (South Pacific Management) chain announced the opening of its future hotel in
Punaauia, facing the island of Moorea, on the site of the former "Iaorana Villa", one
of the pioneers of the local hotel industry. Starting in April 2009 the "Manava
Suite Resort Tahiti" will offer 115 rooms ( of 40 to 140 m2) to the flow of
tourists chosing the Polynesia destination, a flow that we expect will be more regular
by then. Three bars, two restaurants and an overflow swimming pool will enhance this
new addition to the chain, which already counts nine other hotels spread over the
Polynesian territory.
The
Star Flyer, a four-mast sailing ship, new crusing symbol in Polynesia
After
the departure of the luxury sail cruise ships like the "Wind Song" and
the "Wind Star", Polynesian islands were impatiently waiting for the return
of a new unit crusing under sail. It is now done with
the
"Star Flyer" of the Star Clippers company, a Swedish company. The
85 cabins of this traditional 110m long four-mast can welcome 170 passengers for
inter-island cruises programmed for the coming four years. Each week the "Star
Flyer" carries her passengers to Moorea, Huahine, Raiatea, Tahaa and Bora Bora
in luxury and comfort in harmony with her ambitions. Count about 2,000 euros for
a week of dreams to the discovery from the sea of our most beautiful islands.
