THE FRUIT JUICE FACTORY IS GETTING BIGGER

The Moorea Fruit Juice Factory bought about ten years ago by the local Brasserie de Tahiti group, is getting bigger to process still more tropical fruits transformed in the past 25 years into excellent fuit juices which make the country's reputation.

In order to find the best market possible to the local production of fruit, an extension had become necessary to receive the new processing chains dedicated to process sour sops and nono, the latest fad
New jobs will also be created for fruit producers and inside the factory.

Created in the 1980's by enthusiastic amateurs, the factory quickly reached its cruising speed and made it possible for many farmers in the sister island to find a market for their products.

After the pineapple which was its "bread and butter", it is the turn of other fruits that are produced in quantity in Moorea, to be transformed into juice for the greatest happiness of the Polynesians, the tourists and soon other amateurs. An affiliated export company has been established and passion fruit, papayas, mangos, bananas and many more local fruit will make the reputation of fruit juices bearing the "Rotui" brand name all the way to France where those juices are found in some specialized stores.
Presently, the factory processes nearly 2,000 tons of pineapples per year, not to mention hundreds of tons of other local fruits. The factory's extension should still increase the production but also the quality of juices.
A beautiful example of the Polynesian agricultural sector's success.
