The Moorea Lagoonarium

More than an institution for local tourism, the Moorea Lagoonarium is a must while vacationing in Polynesia...
Here, a few cable lengths from Tahiti, you are offered to spend an entire day swimming with sharks, rays and moray eels amid a frenzy of colorful lagoon tropical fishes.
An unforgettable adventure, even for those who come regularly here to “recharge their batteries” in this exceptional natural aquarium.

But the Lagoonarium is not an aquarium ... Your hosts, Aiata and Matahi welcome you on their motu to a true aquatic paradise. As soon as you get off the ferry from Papeete, follow the south coast of Moorea (left when getting off the boat) and stop 4 km (3 miles) further on the parking area opposite the motu. The Lagoonarium canoe will be waiting to give you a quick transfer to “paradise".
If you already are in Moorea, in a “pension” or a hotel on the island. The Lagoonarium organizes shuttles from your hotel

Your day can begin ... On land, among the many spots of the motu that encourage relaxation, or in the water, while swimming along the aquatic path to discover the lagoon wildlife in full safety; the magic is total. If the Garden of Eden exists, it probably looks like Motu Ahi Moorea.
In the shadow of picturesque fare available for a nap, or in the fare pote'e shaped like a boat’s hull, the serenity of the place is appreciated while you are sharing your emotions with your companions of the day.

Included in the very reasonable rate, are free coffee, tea or chocolate, and of course, masks, fins and snorkels, kayaks, and for a successful picnic, a fridge, a barbecue area and a fully equipped kitchen, not to forget showers and restrooms to make the experience even more pleasant.
The boldest ones can venture all around the motu, and discover a crowd of sharks, rays and sea turtles. You may think that these new play friends came there just for you in this big aquatic garden.
Let yourself be tempted!
