“Fiu” is a difficult to translate local expression used when one is fed up, doesn’t feel like working, etc.. A frequent feeling in the islands, caused by the heat and a natural nonchalance...

It must be pointed out that kilometer markers start from the airport, with km1 starting to the West (towards the Bays) in the village of Temae. If you head eastwards, another km1 is found at the entrance of the Ia Ora Moorea Sofitel Hotel. Don’t be surprised then as past km 35, the kilometer indication decreases, between Haapiti and Varari.
